PG&E is an Industry Leader Due to Its ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager Automated Benchmarking Service

Southern California Edison has established itself as a leader among the public utilities in California by establishing a partnership with Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).

In 2007 EE Initiative served as a liaison between SCE and BOMA members to ensure energy efficiency success in the private sector.

Through this partnership EE Initiative accessed BOMA members via speaking engagements at monthly luncheons, through email blasts, website exposure and member oriented energy efficiency workshops.

Members were educated and encouraged to participate in SCE's commercial energy efficiency programs (Standard Performance Contracts, Express Efficiency, Demand Response, Retrocommissioning, Savings By Design, etc.)

Clients were also encouraged to Benchmark buildings through ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and to take BOMA Energy Efficiency Program (BEEP) courses.

PG&E, one of the nation's largest utilities, led efforts to develop a new program approach for assessing the efficiency of commercial buildings. It became the first utility in the nation to automate the transfer of utility billing data so that large sets of buildings can be easily assessed for efficiency and targeted for improvements using EPA's Portfolio Manager. PG&E has teamed up with EE Initiative to offer a series of "Benchmark Your Building Now" workshops, where attendees benchmark their buildings with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and activate PG&E's Automated Benchmarking Service live during the 3 hour class. Please contact EE Initiative for details on the date and location of the next event.
